A Yes.

Q When do I need to arrive at the competition?
A Please ask your studio director to find out when he or she wants you to arrive at the competition. Because we tend to run early, we ask that all dancers be ready to dance at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled time. Anyone in the audience hoping to watch a particular dancer should be there 1 hour ahead of time as well.

Q How do I know when my son/daughter is dancing?
A The Schedule will be available at least seven days prior to your competition date. Go to our home page and click on your competition city and you will find the schedule link. Specific entry numbers will be sent directly to the Studio Director.

Q Where is the exact location of the competition?
A Go on our tour dates page to find out the name of venue, the address, and click on venue for a map.

Q I see a mistake in the schedule I was given; what should I do?

Q Do you have different levels of competition?
A Yes, we have 3 levels.

RECREATIONAL- this level consists of dancers who take less than 3 hours of dance classes per week. INTERMEDIATE- this level consists of dancers who take less than 5 hours of dance classes per week. ADVANCED- this level consists of dancers who take more than 5 hours of dance classes per week.

Q What is the cut-off date for the age categories?
A All ages, including solos, are calculated as of January 1.

Mini - 4 and under
Tini - 5-6
Petite - 7-9
Junior - 10 - 12
Teen - 13 - 15
Senior -16 - 19
WADC Adults - 20 & Older

Q Do you assign Dressing Room space?
A Yes we assign a dressing room space.

Q Do you permit the use of fog machines as props?
A No form of liquid, gel, aerosol, glitter may be used that can adversely affect the dancing surface.

Q Where do I bring my props when I get to the competition?
A When you arrive please check immediately with the Stage Manager located backstage.

Q Will there be a snack bar open at the competition?
A Yes, typically there will be a snack bar open. If not, a Wild About Dance Competition staff member will assist you with locations of the closest available food vendors.

Q What does it mean to go up for title?
A All solos can enter under the solo title category

Q What are your fees?
A Fees are released to studio owners or competition directors only.

Q How do I get a refund for my child?
A There are no refunds after the deadline date. For further information please contact your studio director.

Q How do we register in advance?
A Simply log in to your online registration account at www.wildaboutdancecompetition.com.

Q My family wants to come watch the competition. Is it free to watch?
A Yes.

Q Is videotaping/taking photographs allowed at the competition?
A No video recording is allowed. No photography is allowed when a specifically licensed photographer is present at the event. Flash photography is never allowed. The use of video recording or unauthorized photography may lead to an entry being "adjudicated only".

Q Once I get on site how do I check in/register if I am a Studio Director/Teacher?
A All Studio Directors or representatives must check in with at the WADC checkin table. There you will receive your Wild About Dance Competition ID, specific dressing room assignment, and complimentary program and other goodies.

Q How do I get my Judges Critiques?
A All audio judges critiques will be mailed out to your studio within a week of your competition.

Q Are Videos & Photos posted on the Wild About Dance Competition web site?
A WADC Website: We post random selections of photos from every event at which a professional photographer is present.

WADC Facebook: We post random selections of photos from every event at which a professional photographer is present. They are generally posted within one week of the competition.

Q I just received my schedule and we have a very quick costume change. What should we do?
A Please see the stage manager. During the event they will work with you. We try to allow at least three numbers for your students to change. Please have them do so as quickly as possible and let the stage manager know when they are ready to perform. If you have a special request that needs to be handled prior to the event, please email directors@wildadc.com.

Q Can I give you my iPod to play my music or does it have to be on a CD?
A We prefer that you put each song on a CD.

Q What forms of payment do you accept at the event?
A We accept cash, checks or credit cards for all merchandise purchases.

Q I have students that are in all three competition levels in a routine. Where do I place them?
A Please choose the division where the majority of your dancers fall.

Q Does every performer receive an award?
A YES! Everyone that performs at Wild About Dance Competition receives an award.
